Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and Jerry Jeudy of the Cleveland Browns were the subjects of numerous trade rumors throughout the first week of October.
A Thursday story shared that one unnamed team executive believes Harrison is someone “the Cards would want to hold onto to build around,” in part because “they’ve got to think they can figure him out.” According to Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, one assistant general manager thinks that both Thomas and Jeudy could be on the move before the NFL trade deadline arrives on Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
Why Brian Thomas Jr., Jerry Jeudy could both soon have new NFL homes
“The two I’d be looking at are Thomas and Jeudy,” the assistant GM said about receivers who could be traded at some point over the next month. “(Jaguars head coach) Liam Coen looks like he’s buried Thomas there, but man, he was sensational as a rookie [in 2024]. And Jeudy is yesterday’s news in Cleveland. That team has two terrific young receivers (Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion) and a tight end to throw to (Harold Fannin). They don’t need a guy that erratic. But he could definitely help somebody else if he lands in the right place.”
As that executive referenced, Thomas recorded 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns his rookie season. However, his name has been mentioned in trade rumors since this past winter, and such stories surfaced before he tallied just nine receptions for 105 yards and one score over the first four weeks of this season.
As for Jeudy, he enters this weekend with just five receptions for 62 yards on the campaign. While both the Jaguars and Browns are 3-1, it seems as if people around the league believe Thomas and Jeudy are surplus to requirements for their current employers.
What teams could trade for Brian Thomas Jr., Jerry Jeudy?
The Indianapolis Colts, the San Francisco 49ers, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders are among the teams that have recently been named as potential landing spots for a receiver. The Fox Sports story noted that the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans could also look to acquire a receiver before Nov. 10 ends.
