There are still many players looking to earn a spot on the team’s active roster or practice squad, and a solid performance on Friday could help their case. It’s also a good opportunity for OC Sean Mannion to fine tune his game-day play-calling operation, and figure out whether he wants to be on the sideline or up in the booth Week 1.
Overall, this close to the season, let’s hope for fundamentally sound football, few operational mistakes, and for everyone to stay healthy. If nothing else, it’ll be a fun Friday night at Lincoln Financial Field with some of the young Eagles players getting their first taste of what home-field advantage really looks like.
