UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping didn’t hold back in response to Alex Pereira’s critical remarks about Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit.

Ciryl Gane will defend the undisputed UFC heavyweight title against surging contender Josh Hokit in the UFC 334 main event next month. After Tom Aspinall vacated the belt as he continues to recover from eye surgeries, Gane returns to the Octagon after defeating Alex Pereira at the White House.

UFC 334’s announcement wasn’t well received by Pereira, who felt he deserved an immediate rematch with Gane after accusing the interim champ of landing illegal strikes in their first fight. Pereira will face Sergei Pavlovich in the UFC 335 co-main event in December.

After Pereira questioned Daniel Cormier and the UFC matchmakers’ excitement surrounding Gane vs. Hokit, one UFC legend didn’t hold back in response.

“Alex Pereira, talking a ton of s—, saying that Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit, which is for the undisputed heavyweight title, should not be the main event in Madison Square Garden at UFC 324, which is just crazy,” Bisping said of Pereira.

“Saying that it should be the co-main event, that Amanda Nunes vs. Kayla Harrison, which is a phenomenal fight; of course, we all want to see ‘The Lioness’ back, probably the greatest pound-for-pound female fighter the sport’s ever seen, and against Kayla, that’ll be a good fight. You don’t put that over Josh Hokit vs. Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight strap. No, Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit both just fought at the White House; they’ve got massive names, and it’s for the title of the baddest man on the planet, right? That is the main event on any card.

“Ciryl Gane is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, and Alex Pereira is pissed off about it,” Bisping continued on Pereira. “He’s still upset about all the back-of-the-head stuff and whatnot. I’m not even going to get into all that stuff. I’ve talked about it 20 times. He just needs to let it go because it’s not a good look. It really isn’t a good look.” (h/t MMA Junkie)
