Former NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey was arrested in Florida following an alleged incident at a mall arcade, according to a police report from the Pembroke Pines Police Department.
Authorities say the incident occurred late on July 26 at Round1 inside Pembroke Lakes Mall in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where Bailey and a woman identified as Karina Manderson were reportedly drinking before police became involved.
According to the arrest report, officers allege that surveillance video captured Bailey and Manderson engaging in sexual activity at the arcade’s bar area. Police stated that a witness observed the incident and instructed the pair to stop.
Investigators said Bailey then pulled up his clothing and the two individuals left the area.
When questioned by police, Bailey allegedly acknowledged that both he and Manderson had their pants down and that he was exposed. However, the former NFL player reportedly denied that intercourse occurred, according to the report.
Police said Bailey told officers that both individuals had consumed alcohol before the incident, estimating they each had approximately two to three shots. Bailey reportedly attributed his actions to being intoxicated.
Manderson allegedly told police she did not remember what occurred. Authorities said she admitted she had consumed alcohol and explained that even one shot of tequila can make her intoxicated.
Police reported that there was no evidence suggesting either person’s drinks had been tampered with.
Bailey was ultimately booked on a misdemeanor charge of exposure of sexual organs. The case remains subject to the legal process, and the allegations have not resulted in a conviction.
Bailey, 35, played college football at West Virginia before being selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent time with the Rams and later the Baltimore Ravens during his professional career. His NFL career was impacted by a serious off-field incident in 2015 when he survived being shot multiple times in Florida, an event that required extensive rehabilitation.
The former receiver later became known for his perseverance and efforts to return to football following that injury. The recent arrest represents a separate legal matter that will now be handled through the court system.
