Tonight’s UFC 332 event was headlined by a women’s flyweight title fight between Natalia Silva and Wang Cong.
Silva and Cong were competing for the vacant women’s flyweight title, this after longtime champion Valentina Shevchenko was forced to vacate the belt due to a serious injury.
Natalia Silva (21-5-1 MMA) entered the contest sporting a 14-fight winning streak, with her most previous Octagon victory coming over Rose Namajunas this past January at UFC 324. The 29-year-old Brazilian’s most recent loss had come way back in December of 2017.
Meanwhile, Wang Cong (10-2 MMA) entered tonight’s title bout boasting a four-fight winning streak, with her most previous victory coming over Tracy Cortez this past July at UFC 329. ‘The Joker’ had suffered her lone career loss to Gabriella Fernandes via technical submission back in November of 2024.
Tonight’s UFC 332 main event proved to be a solid back and forth affair. Natalia Silva got the better of Wang Cong in the opening two rounds, but the Chinese standout turned it on in rounds four and five. Despite the late surge, Cong ended up on the wrong end of the judges’ decision. Silva takes home the belt and looks to start a new era at flyweight.
