UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett took a creative path to trolling Ilia Topuria after his stunning UFC White House loss.
Longtime UFC rivals Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria have been in the headlines in recent weeks for producing different results in the Octagon.
Topuria lost his undisputed UFC lightweight title to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250 last month. It’s regarded as one of the biggest upsets in UFC history.
After a strong start against Gaethje, Topuria’s face was busted wide open as the fight progressed, leading to Gaethje earning the TKO win after Topuria’s team waved off the fight. Gaethje is expected to face top lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan next instead of an immediate rematch against Topuria.
Just weeks after Gaethje’s win, Pimblett submitted Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 329 in a dominant bounce-back performance. After Pimblett’s return to the title mix, a matchup between longtime enemies could finally come to fruition.
Ahead of a potential UFC booking, Pimblett took advantage of Topuria’s loss by making a $14,000 purchase that will surely irritate the former champ.
Paddy Pimblett purchases Ilia Topuria’s UFC Freedom 250 stool for almost $14,000
In a recent Instagram post, Pimblett shared a photo of himself with the stool that Topuria sat on in his corner at UFC Freedom 250.
“Collector’s item,” Pimblett posted.
Pimblett and Topuria’s beef kicked off in 2022 when they shared the same card at UFC London. After Pimblett taunted the Georgian people on social media, Topuria assaulted Pimblett in a fighter hotel altercation.
As of this writing, Topuria hasn’t responded to Pimblett’s social media post.
Pimblett and Topuria have traded barbs for years since the incident, and a lightweight matchup could finally come to fruition. In the meantime, tensions are escalating between the two UFC stars.
