2026 NFL All-Breakout Team, Defense: Abdul Carter, Jihaad Campbell, Travis Hunter poised for big Year 2 – NFL.com
JIHAAD CAMPBELL — After serving an apprenticeship under Nakobe Dean during his rookie season, Campbell is ready to take the full-time reins as Philadelphia’s man in the middle following Dean’s free-agent departure to Las Vegas. The athletic linebacker will enhance defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s scheme with his length and range. Moreover, he will add a new dimension to the Eagles’ defense with his playmaking ability at the second level, shining as a run-and-chase defender with pass-rush ability. With the former first-rounder installed in a premium position in Fangio’s D, Campbell could quickly emerge as a star in his second season.

The 2026 Eagles are taking “connection” seriously – BGN
“Tough. Detailed. Together.” Since Nick Sirianni was hired as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021, he has doubled down on his core values for the team, with connection being one of the most prominent staples. He’s prioritized this in many ways over the years, but heading in the 2026 season, we’re seeing more of the relationship building that’s happening behind the scenes and ahead of training camp. Not that these opportunities to connect as teammates and friends haven’t existed in the past, but there has seemingly been more cameras around to capture it this year. Whatever your opinion on football players posting their workouts, during a long offseason, it at least gives fans a little hope that the team is focused and building a solid foundation in their time away from the building. If nothing else, the 2026 Eagles roster should be as close as ever as they embark on (another) season with high expectations.

NFL fans predict the NFC division winners – SB Nation
Eagles overwhelming NFC East favorites. We started our tour of the NFC in the East, where the Philadelphia Eagles were tapped as overwhelming favorites to win the division. Of those who responded, 67% picked Philadelphia to win the division, followed by the Dallas Cowboys with 15%, and the New York Giants with 13%. Washington rounded out the results with 5%. You can see the results, and the full discussion that followed, here.

Why Nick Sirianni isn’t concerned handing the keys to inexperienced OC – NBCSP
Sirianni likes that story so much because it shows just how hard of a worker Mannion is; how bad he wants it. Sirianni also said that during the spring, there wasn’t a day he beat Mannion to the Jefferson Health Training Complex and there wasn’t a day where Mannion’s car wasn’t still in the parking lot when he left. That work ethic at least partially explains why the Eagles feel like Mannion is ready to be an offensive coordinator in just his third season as a coach at any level. “This dude loves football and he loves to work,” Sirianni said. “I mean I’ve really enjoyed being around him and just his desire. Sometimes we think ‘man he’s talented’ about everybody, ‘man he’s just got it.’ But it doesn’t happen without, whether it’s a player, whether it’s Sean, it doesn’t happen without just this obsession to get better.

Assistant coaches who could break out in 2026 for all 32 NFL teams – The Athletic
Philadelphia Eagles: Joe Kasper, defensive pass game coordinator. If a young assistant coach can stick around — and even thrive — under top defensive mind Vic Fangio, he is often destined for bigger things. Kasper has worked for Fangio in both Miami and Philadelphia, and is poised for a bigger role now that former colleague Christian Parker (another Fangio disciple) is in Dallas. Nguyen, our senior writer, noted that the “two-high trend will continue to grow and it seems like coaches that can successfully implement some of Fangio’s ideas into their systems take it to another level.” High expectations also surround first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who is expected to bring elements of Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay/Shanahan-derived system to Philadelphia.

2026 Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Preview: Can Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley bounce back? – NBC Sports
2026 Philadelphia Eagles Win Total. DraftKings Over/Under: 10.5. Pick: Under (-140). In my heart, I want to pick the over, but -140 for the under is a better price than you can find at most books. It’s easy to see why books think the Eagles aren’t likely to hit 11 wins. They lost several starters in free agency and drafted for the future. Makai Lemon isn’t going to fully replace A.J. Brown as a rookie and none of their subsequent picks are projected to start in 2026. Howie Roseman sacrificed some short-term win probability to build a better team in the long run, and that is enough to convince me to take the value on the under.

Eagles 2026 Training Camp Position Preview: Special Teams – PhiladelphiaEagles.com
Kicker Jake Elliott enters his 10th season of his storied career with the Eagles. The Illinois native is second all-time in career points for the Eagles (1,007), only behind David Akers (1,323). Elliott owns the record for most 50+ yard field goals (33) in team history. In Super Bowl LIX, he broke the record for most points in a Super Bowl by a kicker with 15, passing 1968 Don Chandler. The 2023 second-team All-Pro ended 2025 with 100% accuracy on field goals on the 39-yard line or closer. On extra points, Elliott had a 97.6% success rate in 2025. The Memphis product did something he had never done in his career in 2025 – record a special teams tackle. [BLG Note: I get that the team’s official website isn’t going to be super critical of Elliott but to not even make the slightest mention of his struggles the past two seasons is kinda wild.]

After Asking Steelers For New Home, Kenny Pickett ‘Begged’ Eagles To Trade Him, Says His College Coach – Steelers Depot
“The Eagles did not want to trade him,” Narduzzi said recently on 99.9 The Fan’s YouTube channel. “He begged to be traded because he wanted to compete and he felt like he wasn’t going to have a chance to beat out Jalen Hurts. I think there’s some misconceptions about, ‘They just got rid of him.’ No. They wanted him to stay, and they said, ‘We’re not trading you.’ And he begged, and they said, ‘If it’s good for us, we’ll trade you. But if it’s not good for us, we’re not making that move.’”

Decoding Jonathan Gannon’s Eagles Defense: What the Coverage Data Reveals – Acme Packing Company
Taken together, the data supports a more nuanced read of Gannon than either side of the public debate about him usually allows. He wasn’t simply “too passive,” as some critics argued throughout 2022 — the third-down man-coverage rates and the spikes in blitz aggression in specific weeks show a coordinator capable of asking his defense to take risks when the situation called for it. But he also wasn’t a chess master constantly innovating new wrinkles — the season-long drift toward zone and away from blitzing suggests a defense settling into its most repeatable, lowest-variance version of itself as the year went on, trusting disciplined execution of a smaller menu of calls over an expanding one.

How much Cowboys failure belongs to Dak Prescott – Blogging The Boys
But he has. That’s because there is another option that remains, and that is for Prescott to be the thing that is elevated. That is not a crazy expectation. Dak is compensated heavily, and it is totally fair to expect a player who commands that type of team resources to make a bigger impact. He has to, at some point, be the guy who punishes aggressive defensive attacks instead of falling victim to them. When the clock is running down, he has to make that throw. He has to be that guy. While Prescott is by no means the problem in Dallas, he has not been the solution either. That does not mean he won’t be, but the secret ingredient for the Cowboys’ success is not some big front-office trade or a shortage of receiving weapons. It is Dak. He is the secret ingredient, and when the Cowboys finally do get over the hump, it is going to be because Prescott played like a champion quarterback.

David Blough among Washington Commanders with most to prove in 2026 – Hogs Haven
I really struggled with whether to put Daniels on this list, considering there are so many things he doesn’t have to prove to anyone. It’s clear that Daniels is a true franchise quarterback capable of producing among the NFL’s best. He showed that as a rookie in 2024. There’s no doubting his accuracy or arm strength or football IQ. There shouldn’t be consternation about him playing well predominantly under center. He’s a leader. He commands respect. He’s got it. Health is the only thing, after missing 10 games last season due to various injuries. That’s still true after he played 17 plus the playoffs the year before. The only question about him coming out of college was about dealing with the heavy hits his playing style often invites, though he has always been a good pocket passer with solid footwork. Playing a full season would be great for the Commanders and would silence the one question mark about his NFL potential.

NY Giants’ RB Cam Skattebo reacts to furor over failed backflip – Big Blue View
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo went viral over the weekend for a backflip flop at Fanatics Fest in New York City. He reacted to the five-alarm fire that set off in some corners of the fanbase by promising not to get hurt before training camp. “I’m gonna address the elephant. I will not hurt myself before the season,” Skattebo said Sunday during a Q and A on Sirius XM. Skattebo did admit to realizing during the flip that he wasn’t going to stick the landing.

What is the one storyline that you will be following closely once camp opens next week?

I will be watching the OL transition from a more power based scheme to an outside zone scheme. I’m sure they have the guys to run it (and reportedly all healthy), but how long will it take Kuper to get everyone on the same page and begin to operate in unison. It’s a learning curve for all as they all learned from the same teacher as pros, now a new scheme with a new teacher. It is encouraging seeing Jordan and Lane talking excitedly of the transition.
