Alexander Volkanovski has plenty of confidence ahead of UFC 333.
Volkanovski is set to defend his featherweight title in the main event of UFC 333 on Saturday against Movsar Evloev. It’s an intriguing fight where the oddsmakers have it as a pick’em, as they believe it could be back-and-forth.
Yet, heading into the bout, Volkanovski has plenty of confidence that he will remain the champ and do so however he wants. Volkanovski believes he will be able to control where the fight takes place, which is why he has so much confidence.
‘I will force it to be on the feet’
“Movsar, these challenges he’s going to throw at me, challenges don’t faze me one bit,” Volkanovski said on UFC 333 Countdown. “There will be a path for me to go every single time, because I put myself in a much worse position than one man can ever put me in, and I will always find a way to the next position, where I am going to dominate and do my thing.
“He’s going to want to shoot, and I will force it to be on the feet. You are going to be forced to be on the feet because I am not going to let you get the takedown. I am not going to let you hold me down, we are going to stand up and fight because I am going to make that happen. There is nothing he can do to stop that. I’ve shined before, I’ve shined plenty of times, but this might be where I shine the brightest.”
If Alexander Volkanovski can indeed control where the fight takes place, he should have plenty of success against Movsar Evloev. However, Evloev is undefeated for a reason, so beating him will be easier said than done.
