A UFC Hall of Famer believes Alex Pereira could hang up the gloves with a loss to Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335.

Former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira will face former interim title challenger Sergei Pavlovich, in a heavyweight co-main event at UFC 335. Pereira will return to the heavyweight division after a controversial loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250 earlier this year.

After a disastrous heavyweight debut, Pereira is looking to get back in the win column against another tough test stylistically. Pavlovich is one of the most accomplished knockout artists in heavyweight history with wins against the likes of Tallison Teixeira, Derrick Lewis, and Tai Tuivasa.

Next year, Pereira will turn 40 years old, meaning he could be on the tail end of his combat sports career. One UFC legend believes Pereira losing at UFC 335 could spell the end for one of the promotion’s most remarkable careers.

Michael Bisping believes Alex Pereira will retire with a loss at UFC 335

In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping claimed UFC 335 could be Pereira’s last hurrah in the Octagon.

“Could this be the end of Alex Pereira?” Bisping said of Pereira’s return.

“Pereira’s style is flat-footed… He’s not nice and light on his feet, he’s not spritely, he’s not overly agile… At heavyweight, the guys can take the bigger shots and can give the bigger shots, and they are naturally that size; they haven’t put the weight on by force.

“If he goes up against Pavlovich and he does lose, and there’s a real chance of that… Then where does he go from there?” Bisping continued on Pereira. “Because he wouldn’t be in line for a title shot any time soon, he wouldn’t just have to win one (fight; he would have to win two or three, and does Alex Pereira want to do that? Does he want to be just a contender in the heavyweight division?” (h/t Bloody Elbow)
