UFC featherweight Movsar Evloev has suggested that he will finally receive a world title shot by the end of the summer.
For the longest time now, Movsar Evloev has been pushing to get a shot at the UFC featherweight championship. Courtesy of his win over Lerone Murphy, it now seems as if the time has come for him to go one on one with Alexander Volkanovski. Alas, this is the UFC we’re talking about, and you can never be 100% sure what direction they are going to go in.
For Evloev, though, there don’t appear to be any more contenders, unless former bantamweight king Aljamain Sterling jumps the line – but he isn’t exactly a favorite of the UFC higher-ups. Jean Silva has also been making some noise, but his defeat to Diego Lopes certainly set him back.
In a short and sweet tweet recently posted on his account, Evloev made it known that he believes he is getting ready for the biggest fight of his life.
I am back, end of the summer, and new Inshallah.

Evloev discusses potential title fight
“I am back, end of the summer, and new Inshallah.”
Volkanovski has always been the kind of fighter who will give a shot to contenders who deserve it, and if it was up to him, it likely would have been Lerone Murphy who got the last opportunity instead of Diego Lopes getting a second crack. For Evloev, this is his moment, because based on how long he has had to wait, we can’t imagine he will get too close again anytime soon if he loses.
Who do you believe is most likely to win this title fight if it does happen this year, and how will they get the job done? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below, BJPENN Nation!
