It didn’t take long for them to find new NFL homes.

Wright was plucked off waivers by the Cleveland Browns, who rank sixth in the claiming order. Roberts is joining the Atlanta Falcons, who rank 13th in the claiming order.

The Eagles waiving Wright came as a surprise to me (and some other practice observes I talked to) since I thought he was one of their more intriguing UDFA additions. Wright was having a quiet camp while not getting many reps but he previously had a flash or two during the Eagles’ spring practices. I was interested to see him play in the preseason since he runs very hard after the catch. Alas, he’s in Cleveland now.

As for Roberts, it looked like he suffered a season-ending injury earlier in camp but he got lucky and avoided that outcome. The Eagles already have a lot of offensive line depth, so, Roberts was expendable.

In addition to this news, the Eagles officially released veteran running back Elijah Mitchell from injured reserve with an injury settlement. Mitchell recently got banged up in practice and was subsquently placed on IR.

We got Dae’quan Wright!

I really wanted us to get this guy in the draft, but it didn’t pan out. Idk why he was released by the Eagles, but he stood out every time I watched ole miss last season. This probably isn’t good news for Joe Royer who is still mia as far as I know. I liked Wright a hell of a lot more though so it’s good news for me!
