Now that Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season is in the books, it’s time for an incredibly meaningful and serious exercise: NFL Power Rankings! What differentiates these rankings from all others is that they’re THE only truly accurate ones in the entire universe. Hard to believe, I know. But it’s true. Let’s take a look at how all 32 teams stack up.
BLG’S WEEK 8 NFL POWER RANKINGS
– Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 1) – The Chiefs got dominated; they didn’t even enter the red zone once. Seems like more of an anomalous loss than it is a sign of more struggles to come, though.
– San Francisco 49ers (LW: 2) – As KC can attest to, it’s hard to remain undefeated. The 49ers’ injuries caught up to them in a loss to Atlanta.
– Buffalo Bills (LW: 3) – The Bills return from their bye to host the Ravens. Big chance for Buffalo to put a potential playoff threat in a bigger hole.
– Minnesota Vikings (LW: 4) – The Vikings are undefeated … and they deserve credit for reaching the point of being the league’s only lossless team. But, let’s be real, they’re just not as scary as some of the other top teams. Will be very interesting to see how Minny fares against Detroit this weekend. If they win that one, they’ll have to be taken a bit more seriously.
– Chicago Bears (LW: 5) – The Bears are a real threat to be the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture. Even more so after trading for Jeffery Simmons. That’s a much-needed boost for Chicago’s defensive line.
– Seattle Seahawks (LW: 6) – Mike Macdonald outcoached Andy Reid in Seattle’s dominant defensive effort. Funny enough, the reigning Super Bowl champions wouldn’t qualify for the playoffs if the season ended today, which it doesn’t. But there’s reason to believe they’re going to be in the dance.
– Detroit Lions (LW: 8) – The Lions can’t claim to be the team to beat in the NFC North if they don’t beat the Vikings in Detroit on Sunday.
– Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 10) – The Bengals have the NFL’s fifth-best point differential as Joe Burrow is completing 71.7% (!) of his passes this season for a 110.4 passer rating. Cincy also ranks second overall in DVOA. They shouldn’t be slept on.
– Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 9) – The Jags are returning from their bye to host the Colts, who traded away some of their best players this week. Failing to win this game would be pretty unserious behavior.
– Baltimore Ravens (LW: 7) – Lamar Jackson’s return comes at a crucial time with the Ravens set to take on the Bills. They can’t really afford a loss here in an ultra-competitive AFC North.
– New England Patriots (LW: 11) – A.J. Brown is now expected to miss more time due to injury. He just hasn’t looked right.
– Los Angeles Rams (LW: 12) – After beating the Raiders, the Rams have a chance to go on a winning streak with the Chargers, Commanders, and Cardinals up next ahead of their bye. We’ll see if they can actually stabilize or not.
– Denver Broncos (LW: 15) – The Broncos are a middling team and there isn’t much interesting to say about them.
– Dallas Cowboys (LW: 17) – The good news for the Cowboys is that they avoided a season-ending loss to the Eagles. The bad news for the Cowboys is that a lot of their underlying issues were still on display in Philly.
NFC East Mixtape Vol. 202: Can Dallas build? | PHI/WAS | Giants Outlook
It feels like the NFC East has been whittled down to two teams, and only one of them is playing this week in the Dallas Cowboys. Is there any way that they can build on Monday night by beating the (for them) big, bad Arizona Cardinals?
Meanwhile… the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders are about to play one of the least exciting Sunday Night Football games we have ever seen. Who wants it more? Who wants it least?
And while the New York Giants are off this week, times are very exciting for them. Big Blue View’s Ed Valentine joins RJ Ochoa and Brandon Lee Gowton for an update on how things are going with the G-Men.
The show goes live at 12 p.m. ET today!
You can see that we have an NFC East Mixtape YouTube channel, so make sure to subscribe as the show will live here exclusively in video format.

– Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 13) – The Raiders’ 3-0 start feels like a long time ago now after four straight losses. Going to be time to see Fernando Mendoza sooner than later. They should absolutely be looking to trade Kirk Cousins ahead of the deadline.
– Green Bay Packers (LW: 16) – Green Bay is an average team. They fit perfectly here in the middle.
– Cleveland Browns (LW: 18) – The Browns continue to defy expectations while leading the AFC North. Todd Monken is doing what good coaches do by maximizing the talent he’s been given to work with.
– New York Giants (LW: 20) – This Giants team deserves major credit; they were 10.5-point road underdogs to a Texans team that looked to be on the upswing after a rough start. And they went out and beat Houston. Regardless of what happens moving forward, the J.J. McCarthy trade is already a win for New York.
– Carolina Panthers (LW: 14) – Baker Mayfield only had 64 passing yards against a Panthers team that lost by 30 points. That’s not a very good sign for Carolina’s outlook.
– Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 21) – The Steelers have won three in a row, albeit some of the league’s least threatening teams. Will be interesting to see how they fare in a rematch against the Browns after previously losing to Cleveland.
– Atlanta Falcons (LW: 23) – The Falcons are the NFL’s weirdest team. Not really sure what to expect from them on a weekly basis. High highs and low lows.
– Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 26) – It previously looked like the Bucs were left for dead but they’re still alive in a weak NFC South. Tampa has yet to lose a division game this season.
– New Orleans Saints (LW: 19) – The Saints are 2-5 entering their bye. Kellen Moore is 8-16 since being hired last year.
– Houston Texans (LW: 22) – The Texans are 2-5 overall … but they’re 2-1 in division games, which is important. They’re on life support but it’s too soon to bury them entirely.
– Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 24) – Stick a fork in the Eagles; they’re cooked. This team has lost five straight games and no one will be surprised if the losses continue to pile up. Things have been trending in the wrong direction since last year; Nick Sirianni’s club is 5-10 in their last 15 games.
– Indianapolis Colts (LW: 25) – Kudos to the Colts for being honest about themselves (unlike they were around this time last year when they traded for Sauce Gardner) and realizing they need to be sellers ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
– Arizona Cardinals (LW: 28) – The Cardinals have oddly owned the Cowboys for some time now. We’ll see if they can keep it up with a win over Dallas this weekend.
– Washington Commanders (LW: 29) – The Commanders return from their bye to host the reeling Eagles, who are coming off a Monday night game. If Washington can’t capitalize on this rest advantage and deliver on Amik Robertson’s guarantee that the Commanders will beat the Eagles, they’ll be 1-5-1 ahead of games against the Rams, Giants, and Bengals. In other words, Sunday night is a must-win for Washington.
– Miami Dolphins (LW: 32) – The Dolphins are on the board with a win!
– New York Jets (LW: 27) – Aaron Glenn is giving the Jets a coaching disadvantage.
– Tennessee Titans (LW: 30) – Cam Ward has thrown more interceptions (5) than touchdown passes (4) this season. I think it’s safe to say he’s probably not the long-term answer.
– Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 31) – The Bolts stand alone as the NFL’s only winless team. Their first victory might not come until … Week 11 against the Jets?
