UFC newcomer Gable Steveson believes that his training partner Jon Jones could eventually make his return to the promotion.
When you talk about unpopular fighters in the modern era, Jon Jones is up there with the best of them. While he is also widely considered to be one of the greatest of all time in mixed martial arts, his many issues away from the cage have seriously harmed his overall legacy.

These days, Jon Jones is focusing a lot of his attention on Gable Steveson, who is planning a rapid rise up through the ranks of the UFC heavyweight division. As for the title, with Tom Aspinall vacating and Ciryl Gane seemingly being promoted to undisputed champion status, there are more questions than answers.
In a recent interview, Steveson made it known that there’s a chance Jon Jones will try and reclaim the crown.
Steveson on Jon Jones’ MMA future
“I think Ciryl Gane deserves (the undisputed title) he’s a fantastic fighter and he’s a guy that goes out there and he’s beating everybody besides the infinity stones of fighting, (Francis) Ngannou and Jon,” Steveson told RMC Sport Combat when asked about the state of the heavyweight division.
“I think Jon would like to come back also, maybe seeing this belt open up put another fire into him. Jon’s my training partner everyday in Albuquerque so I’ve seen what he can still do and I know he can do it at the highest level, and maybe his time will come again and I think it will,” Steveson added.

While he may be a controversial figure, Jones would certainly inject some life into this floundering division.
