The Philadelphia Eagles continue the 2026 NFL preseason on Saturday evening with a road game against the New England Patriots. (Click here for ways to watch!)
The teams faced off at two joint practices earlier in the week, and the starters got a lot of good work after most of them sat for their first preseason game against the Ravens. Eagles OC Sean Mannion explained that they like to use these games to better evaluate some of the depth players and give them opportunities to put their skills on display. It’s also a good chance for the coaches to sideline staff to practice their game-day operations — Mannion, for his part, will probably end up calling plays from the sideline this season, but is experimenting from up in the booth on Saturday.
Here are some things I’m interested to see on Saturday night:
- Can the offense eliminate negative plays on first and second down?
- Hopefully Jake Elliott can get some chances for field goals, because he struggled at times in practice this week
- Does Willie Lampkin continue to improve with more reps?
- Can Tanner McKee or Andy Dalton move the team down the field in the first half?
