Dan Hooker has allegedly received threats from Salahdine Parnasse’s fans just hours after the UFC Paris main event was announced.
UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker will face one of the promotion’s biggest signees of the year, Salahdine Parnasse, in the UFC Paris main event on September 5th. Parnasse, a former two-division KSW champion, most recently earned a viral knockout at the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano event in May.
As Parnasse looks to make a statement in his hyped UFC debut, Hooker is looking to snap a two-fight skid after recent losses to Benoit Saint-Denis and Arman Tsarukyan. A win over Parnasse could catapult Hooker back into the lightweight title mix.
Hooker isn’t a stranger to passionate fight fans of his opponents, as he’s dealt with some social media jabs from fans ahead of some of his best performances. But ahead of UFC Paris, Hooker’s life was threatened immediately after the UFC announced the Parnasse main event.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Hooker explained the unprecedented hate he’s received ahead of UFC Paris.
“I’m here to ruin hopes and dreams. This kid wants to come in, make a name for himself, crack the top 10, he wants to be a superstar. Well, I’m going to fly to France, and I’m going to f— everyone’s night up. That is my plan,” Hooker said.
“The death threats have been outrageous. I didn’t get it when I fought [Benoit Saint-Denis]. French people have been speaking French and telling me I’m going to die and telling me they’re going to kill me…
“Whoever this c—‘s fans are, they’re outrageous,” Hooker continued. “It’s going to feel pretty sweet to shut this kid’s lights out and making these guys eat their words.” (h/t MMA Junkie)
Hooker has stopped several hype trains during his UFC career, including James Vick, Jalin Turner, and Marc Diakiese. He’ll look to add another highlight-reel win against Parnasse this Fall.
