It’s been an exciting week so far in the NFL, as teams have trimmed their rosters to 53 players and begun filling out their practice squads. The bigger meaning behind all of it is that the start of the regular season is literally right around the corner, and for the New Orleans Saints, that means turning their attention toward the Detroit Lions on September 13.
While the Saints’ roster will continue to be tweaked over the next few days, the foundation is largely in place, and the offseason is officially over. With the key additions of several free agents and an encouraging draft class, the Saints appear poised to compete for the NFC South title once again.
