The Dallas Cowboys are as frustrating a team as there is in the NFL. Not good enough to win games they should and make their case as a contender, not bad enough that they extinguish all hope of a comeback playoff run. The state of the NFC East keeps them just on the edge of a possible comeback this season, but the obvious warts and debacle’s like the Arizona Cardinals game keep showing up.
Earlier this week we asked you who was most to blame for the loss to the Cardinals between two choices – the offense that couldn’t finish, and the defense that totally collapsed.
What we got back was sort of an even split, but the majority of respondents (58%) blamed the Cowboys offense. The offense is the more talented group of the two, so there is an expectation that they will have to carry the team. They didn’t when it mattered and were unable to finish off the Cardinals when they had chances.
The defense got 42% of the vote after the put together an outstanding effort until late in the third quarter, then totally fell apart after Gardner Minshew and Tyler Allgeier took over.
Both units have a chance to respond this week as they are favored by 5.5 points against an Indianapolis Colts team that has given up on 2026. But it doesn’t look like they inspire much confidence as only 8% of fans think things are heading in the right direction.
