Matas Buzelis didn’t have to attend lengthy on Wednesday evening to listen to NBA commissioner Adam Silver learn his identify off during the 2024 Draft.

And when Buzelis was chosen by the Chicago Bulls with the 11th overall pick, he acquired emotional, and fairly so contemplating the 6-foot-10 G-League Ignite product grew up within the Windy Metropolis and went to Hinsdale Central – lower than 22 miles away from the Bulls’ enviornment.

These feelings continued on for Buzelis as a smile grew throughout his face when he placed on a Bulls hat and went to go shake Silver’s hand. After which he let some tears move as ESPN’s Monica McNutt interviewed him.

Buzelis had lots of people to thank for his journey as a basketball participant to date. On the prime of that checklist although? His haters.

“Thanks to everybody that doubted me, as a result of I wouldn’t be right here with out y’all. I simply use it as gasoline.”

Fairly quickly, we’ll get to see if Buzelis can proceed to show doubters incorrect in a Bulls uniform.
