Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the Week 9 games.
EAGLES GAME
NEW YORK GIANTS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: The Eagles currently have a 2.4% chance of making the playoffs, according to FTN Fantasy. They have the second-longest odds (+1600 on FanDuel) among NFC teams to qualify for the postseason, only ahead of the Arizona Cardinals (+2000). With this in mind, I don’t think it’s unfair to be interested in the Eagles maximizing their positioning in the 2027 NFL Draft. At the same time, I don’t begrudge any Eagles fans who think that’s loser talk and want to see the team win until they’re officially eliminated (and perhaps even past that point). With a victory, the Eagles will be 3-6 entering their Week 10 bye. With a loss, the Eagles can potentially move as high as No. 2 overall in the draft order.

NFL DRAFT CONSIDERATIONS
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS defeat BALTIMORE RAVENS: It’s good for the Eagles that the Ravens lost on Thursday night because Philly owns Baltimore’s fifth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
CINCINNATI BENGALS at ATLANTA FALCONS: The Falcons are the bigger threat to move ahead of the Eagles in the draft order. Root for the Falcons.
DALLAS COWBOYS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: There are multiple reasons to root for the Colts here. 1) If you still want the Eagles to win the NFC East, you want the Cowboys to lose this game. 2) If you want the Eagles to pick as high as they possibly can, you want the Colts to win so that Philly can move ahead of Indy (actual pick owed the New York Jets) in the draft order. Root for the Colts.
NEW YORK JETS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: The Eagles want to stay ahead of the Jets’ own selection (currently No. 6) in the draft order. Root for the Jets.
DETROIT LIONS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: The Eagles want to move ahead of the Dolphins (currently No. 3) in the draft order. Root for the Dolphins.
CLEVELAND BROWNS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Eagles want to stay ahead of the Saints in the draft order. Root for the Saints.
LOS ANGELES RAMS at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: If you want to see the Eagles win the NFC East, you want to see the Commanders lose. But Washington winning helps to ensure Philly stays ahead of them in the draft order. Root for the Commanders.
DENVER BRONCOS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: The Panthers are the bigger threat to move ahead of Philly in the draft order. Root for the Panthers.
HOUSTON TEXANS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: In order for the Eagles to have a chance at the No. 1 overall pick, the Bolts need to win some games. Root for the Chargers.
GREEN BAY PACKERS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: The Eagles own the more favorable of either New England’s or Chicago’s 2027 fifth-round pick due to the A.J. Brown trade. Might as well root for the Pats to lose. Root for the Packers.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: The Raiders are the bigger threat to move ahead of the Eagles in the draft order. Also, would be enjoyable to see the Niners lose. Root for the Raiders.
ARIZONA CARDINALS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: The Cardinals are the bigger threat to move ahead of Philly in the draft order. Root for the Cardinals.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at CHICAGO BEARS: The Bucs are the bigger threat to move ahead of Philly in the draft order. Root for the Buccaneers.
BUFFALO BILLS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Eagles don’t want the Patriots to make the playoffs since Philly could own New England’s fifth-round pick. More preferable to see the Bills win the AFC East. Root for the Bills.
