Conor McGregor’s longtime teammate Artem Lobov accused the former two-division UFC champ of having nefarious motivations to fight again.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor had a short-lived return to the Octagon earlier this year at UFC 329. Just seconds into his fight with Max Holloway, McGregor suffered a right leg injury and underwent surgery immediately following the event.

Despite McGregor’s latest ailment, the former two-division champion still envisions returning to the Octagon for the final fight on his UFC contract. McGregor’s last win came against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

Earlier in his superstardom, McGregor and longtime teammate Artem Lobov were nearly inseparable. The two SBG Ireland standouts were in each other’s corners for many marquee fights in their careers.

But things between McGregor and Lobov took a dark turn several years ago, after Lobov sued McGregor and his Proper 12 Irish Whiskey brand. After McGregor teased another UFC comeback, Lobov isn’t buying his motivations for a return.

“Last fight happened many years ago; now it’s about supporting the habit,” Lobov said of McGregor.

“In my humble opinion, of course.”

After one X follower accused him of ‘hiding’ from McGregor, Lobov went off on his former friend and teammate.

“I was at SBG every Tuesday and Thursday all these years; didn’t see him anywhere. He went on X, sent people to burn my car and threaten my 60 year old mother with a hammer, but never had the balls to call my number directly,” Lobov explained about his feud with McGregor.

“I am the godfather of always showing up, taught Conor how to be a real fighter. But he calls me out at 4am haha, that’s junkie o’clock, I was asleep with me kids. Allegedly, of course.”

As of this writing, McGregor hasn’t responded to Lobov’s latest comments. He’s targeting a return to the Octagon next summer, potentially for a trilogy with Max Holloway.
