Jasmine Jasudavicius admits she thinks Erin Blanchfield underestimated her prior to their clash this past Saturday.

Jasudavicius and Blanchfield collided in the UFC Edmonton co-main event inside Rogers Place, and things didn’t play out the way many envisioned. Jasudavicius’ grappling helped lead her to victory after two strong opening rounds. Jasudavicius ended up earning a unanimous decision victory, and it’s another setback for Blanchfield’s UFC title hopes.

During the UFC Edmonton post-fight press conference, Jasudavicius was asked if she felt Blanchfield was looking ahead of her prior to fight night. The 20-fight veteran’s answer was clear (via MMAFighting).

“Yes,” Jasudavicius said. “I do think that she did underestimate me. She’s obviously a talented grappler, but I’m big, I’m strong, I’m really good at grappling.”

Jasudavicius wasn’t surprised that she had as much success against Blanchfield as she did in front of her home country fans.

“I did think it was definitely possible to be that dominant,” Jasudavicius said. “I didn’t know for sure, of course it’s always the unknowns going into a fight, but yeah, I’m very thankful for my skills and abilities and yeah, I know I can be the best in the world and I just try to do my best every fight.”

Now that she has secured the upset win, Jasudavicius is hoping to get a shot at the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship. The current female 125-pound champion is Natalia Silva, who defeated Jasudavicius back in 2022.

Jasudavicius said both her and Silva are different fighters than they were four years ago, and she is expecting a different bout if the two mix it up again. Jasudavicius noted that she didn’t have much tape of Silva to study, and she feels there would be better preparation in a rematch for UFC gold.
