NFL Week 5 gambling preview: Bet on Trevor Lawrence, plus other picks

The fifth Sunday of the 2026 NFL regular season will be here soon. It’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy some football. Before the third Sunday festivities of the year kick off, here are our gambling picks for the Week 5 slate.

Three Picks of the Week

2026 Record: 3-5

1) Trevor Lawrence OVER 14.5 rushing yards (-110)

Trevor Lawrence hasn’t been using his legs much to start this season, but we will see that change this week. Lawrence and the Jaguars face off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. While they are currently dealing with a plethora of injuries, the Eagles still have plenty of healthy talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Philly’s ability to get after the quarterback has forced opposing quarterbacks to run against them at a high rate. In four games this year, the Eagles have seen quarterbacks run the ball 16 times against their defense. I think we see that trend continue Sunday as Lawrence uses his legs to escape some sacks and pick up extra yardage.

Take the over on his rushing yards.

2) Cincinnati Bengals/Seattle Seahawks ML (+106)

Both the Bengals and Seahawks are in great spots in Week 5. Cincinnati is going up against arguably the worst team in football, the Miami Dolphins, with Seattle facing off against a San Francisco 49ers team due for some regression in a tough road matchup.

While the 49ers are 4-0, two of their wins have come against the Cardinals and Dolphins. Those blowout victories have overinflated their value, and we will see the defending Super Bowl champs bring them down a peg on Sunday afternoon. Take both Cincinnati and Seattle to win on Sunday.

3) Jayden Daniels 30+ rushing yards (-125)

After suffering an elbow injury in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will make his return to the lineup this week against the New York Giants. When healthy, one thing Daniels has done consistently well during his NFL career is use his legs to his advantage.

Washington’s quarterback has recorded 30 or more rushing yards in 20 of the 26 regular season games he has played in throughout his career. This week Daniels should be able to continue that trend against this Giants’ defense.

Jeremiyah Love OVER 2.5 receptions (-102)

Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love’s NFL career hasn’t gotten off to the best start, but the number three pick faces a favorable matchup this week against a dreadful Detroit Lions defense.

In his four games as a pro, one thing Love has consistently done is catch the ball out of the backfield. The 21-year-old has 11 receptions in four games, recording two or more in a single game three times. The Lions defense came into Week 5 last in the league in passes completed against and first downs allowed, making this a good spot to bet on the Notre Dame product.

Love should be able to get involved through the air against a poor Lions’ defensive unit. Take his over on receptions in this one.
