The UFC Vegas 122 weigh-ins were not perfect.
One of three scale fails involved a main card fighter, but the middleweight headliner between Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan is safe. Allen used the one-pound allowance for a non-title fight to hit the 186-pound mark. Duncan reached 185-pounds during Friday’s weigh-in, which means both men are on point.
It’s a different story for Ketlen Souza, who could not make the strawweight limit for her clash with Loopy Godinez, who was on the mark at 115.5 pounds. Souza is forfeiting 20 percent of her fight purse.
Joining Souza on the fine list are Ismael Bonfim and Brendson Ribeiro. Bonfim missed the lightweight limit by seven and a half pounds. He has been penalized with a 25 percent fine. Ribeiro also missed weight for a light heavyweight tilt against Felipe Franco, who nailed the 205-pound mark. Ribeiro is being fined 20 percent of his fight purse after he was two and a half pounds over the limit.
As for some other fights that did not get impacted by a scale fail, Matheus Camilo vs. Jai Herbert will take place at the contracted lightweight limit. Camilo was on the mark at 156 pounds, while Herbert was 155 pounds on the nose. Andre Fili (145.5) and Kai Kamaka III (146) are set for their featherweight collision.
