Brandon Graham will not be returning to the Philadelphia Eagles to suit up for a 17th NFL season.
The two-time Super Bowl champion reportedly stated as much during an event in Philly on Tuesday morning.
UPDATE: Here’s Graham making the announcement.
“I’m officially done. Y’all hearing it from me first. But let me tell you this, they are in great hands. Jordan Davis, I’m telling you, he is a guy who is going to get the defense going. On offense, I can’t wait for Jalen [Hurts] to prove them haters wrong as always, and get us back to the promised land. I’ma still be around, still around, still giving wisdom, helping the guys. Because, of course, it’s an adjustment for me, but it’s a great adjustment, because it’s all about my kids and my family, trying to make sure I’m there for that. Just spreading the love everywhere.”
Graham originally walked away after the 2024 season but then came out of retirement to help the Eagles, who were in need of defensive line help, midway through their 2025 campaign.
Following the conclusion of last season, Graham expressed interest in playing one more year … under the condition that he would be able to get a full training camp under his belt to properly prepare for 2026. But camp obviously came and went with Graham remaining unsigned.
There’s reason to believe Graham could’ve helped the Eagles this season. He was still an effective contributor when he played last year. Not to mention he perpetually provides the locker room with a morale boost.
But it’s not like the current iteration of the team is in need of defensive line help; the Eagles are well-stocked at both edge rusher and the interior.
And so Graham will retire again instead of playing for the Birds in 2026. One would think it’s for real this time. Assuming that’s the case, what a career it was for this Eagles legend.
