Ever since Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and entertainment superstar Taylor Swift first got together, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has repeatedly insisted that the much-publicized relationship has caused no unwanted distractions for the team.
Kelce and Swift are reportedly scheduled to get married during the NFL’s summer break. While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Reid insisted that what will become the most-discussed wedding of 2026 caused no issues for the Chiefs during springtime workouts.
Travis Kelce was focused on Chiefs, not Taylor Swift wedding, during springtime workouts
“You see no distractions with that and the wedding,” Reid explained, per Nate Taylor of ESPN. “If it’s like when I got married, my wife did everything. I just kind of followed her lead on it [and] showed up. Maybe he’s doing more, but he looks like he’s pretty focused in on this job here, too.”
According to Mara Siegler and Larry Celona of Page Six, Swift and Kelce plan to get married at Madison Square Garden “over July 3 weekend.” Swift recently attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the
New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs at MSG this past Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs’ training camp is expected to start in late July. Some think the wedding could “secretly” take place this weekend.
The terms of a contract Kelce signed this past March suggest he will retire at some point after the 2026 campaign wraps up. That said, neither he nor anybody associated with the Chiefs has confirmed that the 36-year-old will be entering a “Last Dance” season this coming September.
Will Andy Reid be attending the Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift wedding?
Certain news outlets have been attempting to learn as much information as possible about the Kelce-Swift wedding. On Thursday, Reid was asked if he would be attending what likely will be a star-studded event.
“Can’t talk about it, can’t talk about it,” Reid said while laughing. “Listen, [Kelce’s] been here most of the offseason, if not the whole offseason. He did the mandatory camp and did a nice job there, so it’s good to have him back in and rolling. He’s very excited.”
