The New York Knicks came up huge with a historic comeback in their Game 4 win against the San Antonio Spurs at home at Madison Square Garden. The win has them at  3-1 and one game away from winning the NBA title. 

They lost Game 3 on Monday, which ended with a close 115-111 victory for the Spurs, ending the Knicks’ hopes for a sweep, but what really matters is the championship win, and that’s still in sight.

Before Wednesday’s game, the NBA announced news about Spurs star Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs standout was picked as the No. 1 overall selection in the 2023 NBA Draft, and he’s been a dream.

Victor Wembanyama notched more history against the Knicks in Game 3

Wembanyama is the face of the Spurs and regularly makes history with the team. So, it’s not a big surprise when he makes more history, but it’s still nice to see, for Spurs fans.

On Wednesday, hours before the game, the NBA took to social media to share the news that Wembanyama is joining David Robinson as the only two players since blocks were officially recorded during the 1973-74 season to put up 450+ points, 200+ rebounds and 70+ blocks through their first 20 playoff games.

That’s quite a stat line and accomplishment. Wembanyama also posted 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals during the game.

He was not able to do it again on Wednesday night thanks to Jalen Brunson and the Knicks.

 Game 5 is set for Saturday in San Antonio.
