The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a win for the first time in a while. It feels pretty nice.

Last time that was the case much was made about how they have only had one winning streak under head coach Brian Schottenheimer. That remains true, but Sunday’s tilt against the Arizona Cardinals offers the next opportunity for the Cowboys to do it.

While the Cowboys are coming off of a much-needed win on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cardinals have seen better days. Arizona just lost to the Denver Broncos and much was made about how poor attendance was in their home building, especially since it was a celebration for Larry Fitzgerald entering the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past summer.

This game is at AT&T Stadium though, and quite frankly the Cardinals have owned the Cowboys in it and everywhere for that matter. The old school NFC East rivals have squared off a bit over the last decade, and the extreme majority have gone to the Cardinals. Dallas is 1-8 against Arizona since 2008.

Brian Schottenheimer, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Javonte Williams will be charged with scoring points to not let another loss happen. Defensively it goes without saying that we need to see more from Christian Parker, but even the likes of Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark need to raise their games another level. Joey Porter Jr. has been excellent since Dallas acquired him.

Something else to monitor in this game is the fact that Dallas has been linked to Cardinals pass rusher Josh Sweat. Perhaps a Cowboys win pushes Arizona closer to selling off assets like Sweat.

Bring it on.

They got it done with a 38-21 win over their NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, can they actually stack some wins together? Their schedule certainly lines up for them to get on a roll.

Cowboys trade rumor: Dallas linked to Cardinals pass rusher Josh Sweat

Arizona Cardinals v Los Angeles Chargers

Arizona Cardinals v Los Angeles Chargers

The Dallas Cowboys are being connected to yet another trade rumor. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler mentioned on Wednesday that the Cowboys could be interested in Arizona Cardinals pass rusher Josh Sweat. It is worth mentioning that Dallas hosts Arizona next Sunday afternoon.

Fowler even notes in his report here that the Cowboys executing this move, hypothetically, could be viewed as shortsighted as the Cowboys are a pair of games below .500 this season. All is fair in the crummy NFC East, though.
