UFC fighter Casey Kenney was arrested on Aug. 16 on a mess of expenses stemming from an alleged home violence altercation.

Phoenix Police officers confirmed to MMA Preventing that Kenney was arrested by Phoenix Police Fugitive Apprehension Detectives on Aug. 16 at 12 p.m. native time. He was booked on expenses together with kidnapping, aggravated assault (strangulation), and assault. He has since been launched from custody.

Maricopa County courtroom data present Kenney faces a complete of six expenses — a category 2 felony for kidnapping and a category 4 felony for assault/strangulation — and 4 misdemeanor expenses. The harshest cost is the category 2 felony, which comes with a possible jail sentence of a minimal of 4 years in jail and as much as 12.5 years in jail if convicted.

In July, Phoenix Police confirmed an incident that was first reported on Instagram by the alleged sufferer’s mom who accused Kenney of home violence.

“Moreover, throughout the 13 hours at Casey Kenney’s residence, Jasmine was incapable of escaping the residence as a consequence of Casey routinely grabbing maintain of Jasmine and holding her in place throughout her makes an attempt whereas threatening to trigger extra bodily hurt. Casey Kenney suggested Jasmine Mendez that if anybody exhibits up he’ll shoot them and if her mom exhibits up he’ll shoot her within the head. Jasmine Mendez acknowledged she wishes prosecution on this matter presently.”

There’s a standing convention scheduled on Kenney’s case on Aug. 22, with a preliminary listening to set for Aug. 26.

The 33-year-old fighter hasn’t competed since 2021, when he suffered a loss to Song Yadong at UFC 265. Kenney began with the promotion again in 2019, and whereas he’s nonetheless listed on UFC’s web site, his standing says “not preventing.”

UPDATE: UFC confirmed to MMA Preventing on Wednesday that Kenney has been launched from his UFC contract.
