Sarah Ferguson quoted her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth ll, throughout Lisa Marie Presley’s memorial service at Graceland on Sunday.

“I believe it’s time to stoke our flames inside … to rejoice the extraordinary Lisa Marie,” the Duchess of York, 63, started, noting that she and Presley known as one another “sissy.”

“My late mother-in-law used to say that nothing [that] might be mentioned can start to remove the anguish and the ache of those moments, as a result of grief is the value we pay for love. And the way proper she was.”

Ferguson was quoting a message Queen Elizabeth gave to New York following the tragic Sept. 11 assaults in 2001. The late British monarch died in September 2022 on the age of 96.

Elsewhere within the speech, Ferguson additionally referenced Lisa Marie’s late son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide at age 27 in July 2020.

Ferguson then addressed Lisa Marie’s three daughters: Riley Keough, 33, and twins Finley and Harper, 14.
