The problems between the 2 males started in December when the previous AEW world champion provided Starks a spot within the Jericho Appreciation Society, just for Starks to say no and poke enjoyable on the veteran as an alternative.
That led to a problem for a match between them on the Jan. 4 version of Dynamite. Starks was victorious, giving him what was then the most important win of his profession.
