Freshman guard Cooper Flagg has been turning heads since his summer season debut with the USA Choose Crew. Regardless of having no faculty expertise in July, he was already projected because the No. 1 choose within the 2025 NBA draft, in response to a Western Convention scout, cited by ESPN’s Baxter Holmes.

“He would have been the primary choose within the 2024 draft as nicely,” stated the scout, per Holmes. “There’s disbelief about him as a result of he is simply that good.”

The 17-year-old joined a staff historically composed of NBA gamers simply 4 months after main Montverde Academy to its eighth highschool nationwide championship.

Surrounded by legends like Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and LeBron James, the current highschool graduate shortly captured the eye of a number of NBA veterans for his unimaginable expertise at such a younger age.

“He seems like a hell of a participant,” Suns’ Kevin Durant stated, per Holmes. “He is 17 years previous coming in right here taking part in like a [veteran] virtually. No emotion. Simply going on the market and doing his job. That is a very good signal.”

The 6’9″ guard made his season debut for the Duke Blue Devils simply over every week in the past, ending with 18 factors, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds whereas taking pictures 40 p.c from the sector.
