New Los Angeles Dodgers beginning pitcher Jack Flaherty will put on No. 0 with the staff, in response to baseball author Eric Stephen, making him the primary member of the Dodgers with that quantity since Al Oliver in 1985.
The Dodgers traded a pair of prospects—catcher Thayron Liranzo and infielder Trey Sweeney—to land Flaherty.

“Getting an influence starter was a really excessive precedence for us, and Jack is certainly that,” Dodgers basic supervisor Brandon Gomes told reporters Tuesday. “His command, his stuff, the swing-and-miss—we really feel like that is an actual energy choice come October.”
He is a much-needed arm for a rotation that has been beset by accidents this season.
The New York Yankees reportedly had a “preliminary” deal in place to amass Flaherty however backed out as a result of medical considerations, in response to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
