Ilott splits with Juncos Hollinger Racing IndyCar squad

The 2020 Formula 2 runner-up and former Ferrari Academy driver made his IndyCar debut with Ricardo Juncos’s team in the final three rounds of 2021, and subsequently finished 20th and 16th in points during full-time campaigns with the team. The 2020 Method 2 runner-up and former Ferrari Academy driver made his IndyCar debut with Ricardo Juncos’s group within the last three rounds of 2021, and subsequently completed 20th and 16th in factors throughout full-time campaigns with the group.

In a press release, the group stated ‘each events have mutually determined to half methods, efficient instantly’ and expressed its ‘honest appreciation for his contributions over the past two years’.

“Whereas it’s with blended feelings that we bid farewell to Callum Ilott,” stated Juncos. “I wish to categorical my gratitude to Callum for all of his efforts throughout his time with our group, and we deeply respect his contributions.

“We want him the perfect in his future endeavors. Callum has proven immense expertise, and now we have little question that he’ll proceed to make his mark on this planet of motorsport.”

Fellow group co-owner Brad Hollinger added: “Whereas we bid farewell to Callum as a driver for Juncos Hollinger Racing, we want him each success in his subsequent chapter. We have now little question that his expertise and willpower will proceed to shine.”

Ilott scored career-best fifth place finishes with the group in 2023, on the season-opening St Petersburg avenue race and the Laguna Seca finale.

“I need to lengthen my gratitude to Juncos Hollinger Racing for the chance to be a part of their group,” stated Ilott. “I’ve immense respect for the group, and our time collectively has been a worthwhile expertise. I sit up for exploring new alternatives and challenges in my racing profession.”

He went on to put up on social media: “As for my future, my eyes are absolutely fastened on 2024 and the journey that follows.”

The group has already re-signed Agustin Canapino, the 33-year-old former Argentinian Touring Automotive sensation, who will stay within the group’s Chevrolet-powered #78 entry for his second season in IndyCar, after scored a finest end of twelfth at St Pete, Texas and Toronto in a powerful rookie yr.

Juncos says it’s going to ‘present updates relating to its driver lineup for the upcoming season in the end’.
