After an incredible 2021 season, linebacker De’Vondre Campbell gave credit to the Green Bay Packers.

Months after the start of the 2021 league year, the Green Bay Packers decided to add to their linebacker corps by signing De’Vondre Campbell, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals. The signing worked out tremendously for both parties, as Campbell was named to the All-Pro First-team. He was then rewarded with a lucrative contract this offseason.

On Twitter, Campbell posted a message about those who have doubted him in his seven years in the league. After a fan responded saying that he was solid with the Falcons, Campbell discussed the number of responsibilities he had with the team. Campbell then credited the Packers for “listening” to him, saying “look what happened.”

For 7 years now y’all been tryna discredit everything I’ve done in this league lol. Since day one I’ve been a starter never been a backup or practice squad player. Have y’all not learned your lesson yet going against me I ALWAYS come out on top lol

I did sooooo much for the Falcons smh only my teammates and coaches know how many job responsibilities I had on a weekly basis and I never complained about it but it hurt me in the long run. The Packers listened to me and look what happened 🤷🏿‍♂️ https://t.co/KAiFDlxOHE

De’Vondre Campbell credits Packers for success in 2021

What happened was an All-Pro season.

Campbell spent the first four seasons of his career with the Falcons, starting in 54-of-59 games played. He posted 363 total tackles, 16 defended passes, 5.5 sacks and three interceptions in that span.

After spending the 2020 season with the Cardinals, Campbell joined the Packers on a one-year deal and was immediately placed in the starting lineup.

Through 16 games, Campbell recorded 146 combined tackles, six quarterback hits, five defended passes, two sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. With those numbers, Campbell was named to the All-Pro First-team for the first time of his career.

This offseason, the Packers decided to reward Campbell, who hit free agency. So, they agreed to terms on a five-year deal worth $50 million. Now, he is set to be the team’s starting middle linebacker for the foreseeable future.

Campbell had a hell of a year, and he gave credit to the Packers for listening to him.
