AUSTIN — The Texas Longhorns formally know their opponent for the Faculty Soccer Playoff Semifinal on the Cotton Bowl on Friday, Jan. 10.
No. 5 Texas will tackle the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes in Arlington, TX at AT&T Stadium. The Longhorns gained a 39-31 double-overtime thriller over the Arizona State Solar Devils within the Peach Bowl whereas Ohio State throttled the No. 1 Oregon Geese in a 41-21 win on the Rose Bowl.
The Longhorns and Buckeyes will face off for an opportunity to maneuver on to the Nationwide Championship in Atlanta on Monday, Jan. 20. Texas or Ohio State would then play the winner of Penn State vs. Notre Dame/Georgia.
“I do know what a fantastic program Sark runs and received a number of respect for him,” Ohio State head coach Ryan Day stated. “I feel we received a number of time to speak about that subsequent week. We will get pleasure from this one proper right here.”
