Brady Stevens, the son of Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens, has dedicated to play school basketball at Notre Dame, he introduced Saturday (h/t The Athletic’s Jay King).
Stevens will play beneath his father’s former assistant, Micah Shrewsberry, who served as an assistant for the Celtics beneath Brad from 2013-19. Brad served as Boston’s head coach from 2013 till he was elevated to his present function following the 2020-21 season.
Shrewsberry is coming into his first season as head coach of the Preventing Irish after teaching Penn State from 2021-23. He went 37-31 in his two seasons with the Nittany Lions and is coming off a 2022-23 marketing campaign by which he led the staff into the NCAA event.
Stevens joins a 2024 Notre Dame class that features four-stars Sir Mohammed and Cole Certa and three-star Garrett Sundra. Mohammed is the son of former NBA heart Nazr Mohammed.
Stevens, who shall be a walk-on at Notre Dame, performs for Wellesley Excessive Faculty in Massachusetts. He’s coming into his senior season.
Notre Dame is coming off a disappointing 2022-23 season by which it completed with an 11-21 document and missed the NCAA event for the second time in three seasons.
Shrewsberry overhauled a lot of the roster this summer time, bringing in Kebba Njie, a switch from Penn State, Carey Sales space, Logan Imes and Julian Roper II, amongst others. He is hoping the roster modifications will repay, although it might take a while for the Preventing Irish to turn out to be aggressive once more.
