Not LeBron James.
Not Stephen Curry.
Not Kevin Durant.
Not Victor Wembanyama.
Not Nikola Jovic.
No person in basketball has executed a transfer higher than the one South Carolina freshman MiLaysia Fulwiley pulled off in the course of the second quarter of her first collegiate basketball recreation.
That’s coming from no much less of a basketball authority than Lakers legend Magic Johnson.
First, right here’s Fulwiley’s spectacular play in the course of the No. 6 Gamecocks’ 100-71 season-opening win over No. 10 Notre Dame on Monday in Paris.
Now right here’s what Johnson had to say about it.
“I simply noticed the very best transfer in all of basketball together with the professionals like LeBron, Steph, KD, Victor, and Jokic,” Johnson wrote on X (previously Twitter. “Everybody should see the coast-to-coast, behind-the-back transfer by freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley from South Carolina. WOW!!”
Fulwiley was a six-year varsity participant at W.J. Keenan Excessive in Columbia, S.C., beginning in seventh grade, and completed as the college’s all-time main scorer. The 5-foot-10 guard had 17 factors in her debut with the Gamecocks.
Durant also took to social media to sing the praises of Fulwiley and fellow freshman Hannah Hidalgo, who scored 31 factors in her first recreation with Notre Dame.
The SEC Community posted the video clip of Fulwiley’s behind-the-back flip shot with Johnson’s put up superimposed on prime of it. The WNBA then reposted that post with the caption, “Wowwwww.”
That’s loads of consideration for somebody who was lower than 20 minutes into her collegiate basketball profession.
