Oakland A‘s broadcaster Glen Kuiper was fired Monday following his on-air utterance of a racial slur throughout a pregame present Might 5.

Negro Leagues Baseball Museum president Bob Kendrick addressed the incident in a tweet following Kuper’s suspension.

“I welcomed Glen to the NLBM yesterday and know he was genuinely excited to be right here,” Kendrick wrote. “The phrase is painful and has no place in our society. And whereas I don’t faux to know Glen’s coronary heart, I do know that my coronary heart is one in all forgiveness. I hope all of you’ll discover it in yourselves to do the identical!”

Braden, who was sitting subsequent to Kuiper in the course of the broadcast, additionally released a statement addressing his lack of a response to Kuiper’s on-air slur after he obtained criticism for not addressing it within the second.
