UFC boss Dana White has made no bones about his ideas on his heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Jones, absent from the cage since a March 2023 win towards Ciyrl Gane to say the then-vacant UFC heavyweight title, has been caught within the crossfire of an ongoing debate between some media members and White amid questions as to Jones’ standing as the game’s high pound-for-pound fighter.
White has on a number of events lately said that Jones must be thought of the game’s largest menace, and has caught to his weapons for the proposed title battle between Jones and Stipe Miocic which is imagined to go down in New York this coming November despite interim champion Tom Aspinall ready within the wings.
Moreover, White has additionally opposed some components of the official UFC rankings (that are determined by a panel of media members) which presently has two fighters — Islam Makhachev and Alex Pereira — as the highest two fighters on the earth, with Jones in third place.
And as such, White says he seems ahead to the day when the UFC can lean on expertise to resolve these points.
“[Jones] lately simply beat the No. 1 heavyweight on the earth [Gane],” White advised the media, together with The Mac Life, Tuesday in Las Vegas.
“Hope you guys learn that stat. what’s f*cking nice about expertise? We’re not far-off from AI truly doing these rankings, and it’ll be a terrific f*cking day when AI begins doing this sh*t.
