NFL predictions: 3 bold takes on the Cowboys at Packers

Last game, I went one for three on my bold predictions. George Pickens did have a day, but having Jalon Daniels as the Bucs leading rusher (big miss) and Brevyn Spann-Ford scoring a TD both failed. Still, one out of three on bold predictions isn’t bad.

This week we are back with three new bold predictions for the Cowboys at the Green Bay Packers.

On to the predictions.

Christian Watson and Matthew Golden will both have a catch over 35 yards

The Cowboys hope that a players-only meeting for the defense, plus the addition of Mike Pettine, will give the defense a boost. And we think it will. Still, the Cowboys secondary is a hodge-podge of under-performing players, injured players, and new players. So maybe this isn’t really a bold prediction.

The secondary is just not in fighting shape yet, and both Christian Watson and Matthew Golden of the Packers will take advantage. Both players can get deep, and Jordan Love loves to launch the long ball. Each player will have a catch that goes for more than 35 yards.

Javonte Williams tops 100 yards rushing

For the first time all year, the Cowboys will have a 100-yard rusher. The Packers have not been good at stopping the run, and further injuries to their defense has weakened the interior of their defense.

With Tyler Smith fully healthy and having a game back under his belt, Dallas will turn to the running game to make things happen. Javonte Williams will be the beneficiary and will go for 100+ yards rushing.

A linebacker and a safety will get sacks for Dallas

The Cowboys have to turn up the heat on the pass rush. Either through better disguises of who is rushing, or through numbers in the blitz, they have to disrupt Jordan Love.

This week the blitz becomes more prominent, and both a safety, and a linebacker, will get home for a sack. We don’t know who exactly will get it done, but we’re predicting it will happen.
