The third Sunday of the 2026 NFL regular season will be here soon. It’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy some football. Before the third Sunday festivities of the year kick off, here are our gambling picks for the Week 3 slate.
Three Picks of the Week
2026 Record: 1-4
1) New York Jets at Detroit Lions -6.5 (-115)
Two games into the 2026 season, the New York Jets have exceeded expectations. New York won their season opener against the Tennessee Titans and took the Green Bay Packers to overtime in a 20-17 loss last Sunday. This week, the Jets are going to come back down to earth against a much more formidable opponent in the Detroit Lions.
The Lions have, without a doubt, one of the best offenses in the NFL. Their Achilles ‘ heel is their defense, which has given up a total of 71 points in their two games this season. While the Lions’ defense may not be very good, trying to slow down the Jets’ offense this week will be a much more attainable task than what they were faced with in the first two weeks of the season.
Look for Detroit’s offense to continue to roll, and for their defense to finally show some positive development against a talent-lacking Jets’ offense. Take the Lions to cover.
2) James Cook 10+ Receiving Yards (-130)
The Los Angeles Chargers and Buffalo Bills matchup will be one of the more entertaining games on the Week 3 slate. Bills’ running back James Cook, who has gotten off to a great start this season, figures to be heavily involved in Buffalo’s offensive game plan.
The Chargers have given up two or more receptions to three separate running backs this season, and Cook has recorded 10 or more receiving yards in eight of his last 12 regular season games. Cook could easily surpass this total in one reception, and he should get plenty of opportunities to do so.
3) Trevor Lawrence OVER 222.3 Passing Yards (-114)
The 2026 season has been a tale of two weeks for Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The former number-one overall pick was dominant in Week 1, throwing for 245 yards and four touchdown passes in a blowout win. Last week against the Broncos, Lawrence struggled, completing just 58% of his passes and totaling 189 passing yards in the loss.
This week, the signal-caller is in a nice bounce-back spot against the New England Patriots. Lawrence has surpassed 223 receiving yards in eight of his last nine regular season games. While New England has only given up a total of 332 passing yards to their two opponents, Jacksonville’s air attack will be a much bigger test.
Look for Lawrence to bounce back through the air and hit the over for his passing yards.
Cowboys Corner
2026 Record: 0-2
Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys (+3.5)
The Pick: Dak Prescott OVER 12.5 rushing yards (-114)
It seems likely that Dallas will struggle to slow down Baltimore’s pass rush on Sunday. Dak Prescott may be on the run quite a bit on Sunday, making it a good bet to take his over in rushing yards. Dak has surpassed 12 rush yards in the last four full games he has played in and it’s a good bet to think he’ll do it again in Brazil.
