The UFC Vegas 121 weigh-ins have wrapped up, and one fighter set to make his promotional debut will have a huge weight advantage.
Luis Hernandez tipped the scales at 204 pounds for his short-notice light heavyweight clash against Sedriques Dumas. While both men did indeed make weight, Dumas clocked in at just 197 pounds. How the weight difference will play a role in the fight will be something to keep your eyes on.
Headliners Raul Rosas Jr. and Raoni Barcelos were also clean on the scale. Rosas used the one-pound allowance for a non-title fight, while Barcelos’ weight was 135 pounds on the nose.
The entire weigh-ins pretty much went down without a hitch, but there was one exception that ultimately worked out. Preliminary fighter John Castaneda couldn’t reach the 136-pound limit on his first attempt for a bantamweight tilt against Alateng Heili. Castaneda hit his target on his second try.

Fresh off the biggest win of his career to date against Rob Font, Rosas is hoping to nab his sixth straight victory. Barcelos is riding a five-fight winning streak himself, and the 39-year-old is making the most of his career before the window shuts. Time will tell if it’s youth or experience that wins the night in Las Vegas.
