How to Watch Giants vs. Red Sox: TV Channel, Live Stream, Time

The San Francisco Giants visit the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 7:15 p.m. ET from Fenway Park, Boston, MA.

The Red Sox enter at 69-59 (.539), while the Giants sit at 52-76 (.406). Patrick Sandoval (1-2, 4.76 ERA over 34 innings) is scheduled to start for Boston against Blade Tidwell (0-0, 4.33 ERA over 27 innings) for San Francisco. Boston’s .839 OPS in August through Aug. 21 leads MLB, while San Francisco’s 118 home runs allowed are the fewest in the majors this season.

Below, we’ll give you all the details you need to know about how to watch this game.

Players to Watch

Patrick Sandoval

Boston’s pitching staff enters with a 3.53 ERA, third-best in MLB, and a 1.22 WHIP that ranks sixth. Patrick Sandoval will be responsible for carrying that strength into the early innings and putting the Red Sox bullpen in position to finish the game.

Sandoval has a 4.76 ERA, a 1.85 WHIP and 35 strikeouts over 34 innings, with one quality start. San Francisco ranks 10th with a .247 team batting average but sits 29th with a .305 on-base percentage. If Sandoval limits walks and keeps the bases clear, Boston can control the matchup from the mound.

Willson Contreras

Willson Contreras has been Boston’s most productive middle-of-the-order hitter. He leads the Red Sox with 26 home runs and 78 RBI while batting .285, making him the lineup’s biggest threat against projected Giants starter Blade Tidwell.

Boston enters batting .251 with a .324 on-base percentage and a .730 OPS. San Francisco’s pitching staff has recorded a 4.36 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. If Contreras drives the ball early, he can help the Red Sox turn consistent traffic into an early lead.

Blade Tidwell

Blade Tidwell could determine whether San Francisco can keep the game close. The Giants are 23-43 on the road and enter with a 4.36 team ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. Against a Boston offense that ranks sixth in batting average and eighth in OPS, Tidwell will need to prevent extended innings.

The projected right-hander has a 4.33 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP and 20 strikeouts over 27 innings while holding opponents to a .235 batting average. If Tidwell can avoid hard contact and keep Boston from stringing hits together, he can give the Giants an opportunity to stay within reach into the later innings.

Rafael Devers

Rafael Devers gives San Francisco its most dangerous power threat. He leads the Giants with 26 home runs and 70 RBI, production that carries added importance for an offense tied for 26th in RBI, 27th in stolen bases and 29th in on-base percentage.

This is Devers’ first series at Fenway Park since Boston traded him to San Francisco in June 2025, and he opened the weekend with a solo homer in Friday’s 6-4 loss. He will face a pitching staff that has held opponents to a .239 batting average and a .680 OPS. If Devers delivers with runners on base, he can give the Giants the impact swing they need against his former club.
