Caitlin Clark addressed the abuse that her fellow WNBA gamers have skilled from followers in video games towards the Indiana Fever.

Talking to reporters Friday, Clark described the folks making any racist and derogatory feedback as “trolls” and nobody within the league ought to be topic to any sort of verbal abuse.

Following the Fever’s playoff loss to the Connecticut Solar, Alyssa Thomas told reporters after Sport 2 on Wednesday that she “by no means skilled the racial feedback from the Indiana Fever fan base” in her 11-year profession that she did throughout that sequence.

“I’ve by no means been referred to as the issues that I have been referred to as on social media and there isn’t any place for it,” Thomas added.

Fever ahead NaLyssa Smith posted on X that her girlfriend, Solar guard DiJonai Carrington, was receiving demise threats, being adopted and being “referred to as all sort of s–t” after Carrington inadvertently poked Clark within the eye in Sport 1.

This is not the primary time that Fever followers have been referred to as out for making racist and derogatory remarks to an opposing participant.

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese mentioned on the debut episode of her podcast that she believes Clark does not stand on something damaging the followers say, however these folks can get “very disrespectful” to the purpose they’ve stalked her going residence and despatched her demise threats.

Within the wake of Thomas’ feedback, the WNBA issued a press release condemning any “racist, threatening or derogatory feedback made about gamers, groups and anybody affiliated with the league.”

Clark’s rookie season got here to an finish on Wednesday when the Fever had been swept within the first spherical of the playoffs by the Solar.
