It is thought Flexion’s audio workforce and “others within the UK” have been impacted
The UK division of Inflexion Video games is reportedly closing down.
Audio director Jon Newman confirmed the cuts on LinkedIn, saying: “It’s with a heavy coronary heart that I’m sharing the unhappy information that the UK subsidiary of Inflexion Video games is closing, and with it, the roles of the audio workforce based mostly right here within the UK in addition to others within the UK are affected.”
Principal audio designer Rebecca Parnell confirmed they too had been impacted, as did senior audio designer Tom Avis.
Inflexion has but to formally acknowledge the cuts, and the variety of builders impacted by the layoffs stays unknown.
Newman paid tribute to colleagues, saying it had “been a pleasure and privilege” to work on the studio’s fantasy open-world survival crafting sport, Nightingale, during the last 4 years.
“We are able to truthfully say with satisfaction that we gave it our all and that we poured our hearts into creating one thing distinctive.”
Final week, we reported that Surgent Studios had put its entire games division on hiatus as it struggled to secure funding, inserting an unknown variety of workers prone to being laid off.
